When the wintry landscape is ablaze with the light of the moon, then it must be the perfect night for sledging on the Niederhorn by moonlight.
Start your sledging adventure with a fondue on the mountain peak. The Niederhorn Mountain Restaurant combines modern gastronomy with Alpine charm and a a cozy atmosphere. And, at the end of a fine day out, take a tipple of mulled wine or punch on a memorable evening in the Vorsass Mountain Restaurant. Since the moon does not shine brightly every night, the sledging route is marked with lanterns.

At the Starlight Sledging you can choose between two offers every Friday and Saturday evening:
Sledging by moonlight (plus)
Enjoy a tasty fondue at the Berghaus Niederhorn. Experience fantastic sledging under the starry sky and end the evening with a mulled wine or punch in the mountain restaurant Vorsass (middle station). This offer also includes sledge rental and funiculare / cable car tickets (as many runs as you like).
Sledging by moonlight
With this offer you can enjoy as many sledge runs under the starry sky as you like. All train tickets and sledge rental are included.
The starlit sledging tickets are available from 4 pm at our counters. The toboggan run from Niederhorn opens at 6.15 pm. Please note that between 4.00 pm and 6.15 pm the piste is prepared for night sledging and is therefore closed. The Bärgrestaurnat Vorsass will also remain closed between 5 and 6 pm.
From 6.15 pm the gondola runs every 10 minutes from the middle station Vorsass to the Niederhorn. Last ascent is at 9.35 pm. During this time the lifts are available for as many rides as you like. This is pure sledging fun!
Important information
- A reservation is mandatory.
- In order for you to enjoy the stars and lights, the sledge run has been marked only with simple construction lanterns; a headlamp is therefore highly recommended. (Headlamps are sold at the stations of the Niederhornbahn).
- Dogs are not allowed on the slopes during starry sledding.
- In case of doubtful weather, storm or too few registrations, you will be informed by phone from 1 pm on about the realization..

A hire sledge is included in the star sledging offers and can be picked up at the Niederhorn mountain station.
